Hi, I’m Emily, and I’m addicted to parties. The serial entertainer in me is always looking for a good excuse to host a gathering where my friends and family can be together under one roof.
This weekend is no different- well- the friends coming together part will be the same – but this time there will be more meaning behind our get-together. This Saturday, March 23rd starting at 8:30pm is Earth Hour and it’s the perfect excuse to host a candlelight dinner party and celebrate our brilliant Earth.
Earth Hour is a global movement that is more than a ‘lights out’ campaign. The one-hour event is the single, largest, symbolic mass participation event in the world. Born out of hope that we can inspire others to take action on climate change, it symbolizes an international display of concern to save our environment.
Earth Hour encourages us all to see things in a new light, and nothing says ‘Earth Hour’ more than a house full of candles. It not only creates the warm ambience, it also smells delicious too. In addition to the naturally glowing ambience provided by candles, why not take it a step further and make the dinner and drinks Earth Hour friendly too. How about a dinner party where the food and wine is as good for the planet as it is for you? We all know that the simple act of growing our food can have massive impact on the earth, and we know that simple actions can make a big, positive difference for our people and planet.
"One thing is for sure, your candlelight dinner is sure to inspire your friends and family to make simple changes in their lives in honour of the Earth. This weekend, turn off the lights and celebrate Earth Hour by seeing things in a new light."
